The penalty point system for Ukrainian drivers is not yet in effect, and reports of its alleged introduction are false. The relevant legislative initiatives are still under consideration.
The first deputy head of the Patrol Police Department, Alexey Beloshitsky, announced this on his Telegram channel.
He emphasized that rumors circulating online about the introduction of penalty points are false.
According to Beloshitsky, there are currently several bills underway that aim to regulate this issue and potentially introduce a penalty point system in the future, similar to practices in other countries. However, no decisions have been made yet.
He also assured that the public will be informed in advance of any major changes in road traffic regulations and urged people to trust only official and verified sources.
