The people have spoken: Poroshenko called for Parubiy to be awarded the title Hero of Ukraine

The petition to the President of Ukraine to award Andriy Parubiy the title of Hero of Ukraine has collected the necessary 25 thousand votes in a matter of days. Petro Poroshenko calls for the outstanding statesman to be awarded the highest award of Ukraine without delay.

“The Ukrainian people consider Andriy Parubiy a Hero of Ukraine. A few days later, more than 25 thousand citizens signed the corresponding petition. This is not just a number. This is a general “thank you” to our Andriy from the Ukrainian people,” the fifth President writes.

“It hurts to write ‘posthumously’. But we are obliged to recognize at the highest level the statesman who, in the hottest days of the Revolution of Dignity, founded and coordinated the Maidan Self-Defense, headed the Verkhovna Rada in 2016-2019, and held a pro-Ukrainian course and worked all his life,” Poroshenko emphasizes.

“Andriy was number two on the list of “European Solidarity”. For us, this was not only a political position – it was recognition of his contribution, authority and weight among Ukrainians. The petition to award him the title of Hero of Ukraine has already crossed the necessary threshold. I urge you to make a decision as soon as possible.”

Let us recall that on August 30 , public and political figure Andriy Parubiy was killed in Lviv .

It later became known that a shooter who killed the current member of parliament from European Solidarity and former chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy is being sought in the Lviv region . A photo of the alleged killer is being published online.

Later, journalists reported that deputy Andriy Parubiy was shot 8 times by a man disguised as a courier.

By the way, a video of the moment of the murder of the people’s deputy from European Solidarity and former speaker of parliament Andriy Parubiy appeared on social networks.

It should be noted that the SBU reported on the possible involvement of Russian special services in organizing the assassination attempt on People’s Deputy Andriy Parubiy.
