Polish President Karol Nawrocki cancelled a planned meeting with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban due to his recent visit to Russia.
This was announced by the head of the International Policy Bureau of the Presidential Chancellery, Marcin Przydacz.
According to Przydacz, Nawrocki consistently supports the search for realistic ways to end Russia’s war against Ukraine. He also emphasized that the Polish president adheres to the “legacy of Lech Kaczyński,” who noted that European security is based on solidarity.
In this regard, Navrotsky decided to shorten the program of his visit to Hungary, limiting it to participation only in the summit of the presidents of the Visegrad Group countries.
Incidentally, the election campaign for incumbent Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and opposition leader Péter Magyar has effectively begun in Hungary. Both politicians outlined their approaches to the war in Ukraine and their significantly different relations with the European Union.
Earlier, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán accused Ukrainian intelligence of infiltrating the personal smartphones of Hungarian citizens through the opposition Tisza party.
As a reminder, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán explained why he did not join the joint statement of EU leaders in support of Ukraine and called for a separate EU summit with Russia.
