Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the next presidential election will only take place after the war is fully concluded, and not during a possible temporary ceasefire.

He spoke about this in an interview with Corriere Della Sera.

According to Zelenskyy, holding elections during the ceasefire is not under consideration. At the same time, he has not yet decided whether he will run for a second term.

“I’ll see what the Ukrainians want,” the president noted.

However, Andrei Magera, an expert at the Center for Political and Legal Reform, expressed doubts about the wisdom of such rhetoric on the “Pryamoy” program. He warned that such statements could be used by foreign propaganda to promote theories about the limited sovereignty of our state.

Furthermore, the revelations about elections in Ukraine raise many questions . According to political scientist Alexander Krayev, the date of May 15, Friday, is questionable due to its inconsistency with Ukrainian law and military realities. However, it may be part of a broader American foreign policy play.

At the same time, any conflicts within the country and the lack of unity at the political level create new opportunities for hostile advancement , so Ukrainian society must adapt to a long-term confrontation, stated Stepan Barna, commander of the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade “Edelweiss.”
