The procedure for declaring air raid sirens will be changed in Khmelnytskyi Oblast

From July 7 after midnight in the Khmelnytsky region the procedure for declaring air raid sirens in case of a threat from attack and reconnaissance UAVs will change.

This was reported by the head of the OVA, Sergei Tyurin.

Now the “Air raid” signal will sound according to the district administrative-territorial division during the movement of enemy drones. In the Khmelnytsky district, the signal will sound constantly when there is a threat of UAV flight.

According to Tyurin, the decision was made to reduce the negative impact of alarms on the daily life of residents, the economy, education and medicine, taking into account the decision of the State Commission on Emergencies and Safety. The regional military administration provided all technical capabilities for implementing the changes.

The procedure for sounding alarms in the event of a missile strike threat remains unchanged.

Let us recall that the head of the subcommittee on cyber security, Oleksandr Fedienko, reported that in the context of the rising threat from Russian kamikaze drones, the Verkhovna Rada is considering the idea of temporarily disabling mobile Internet in certain regions and mandatory identification of mobile subscribers.

At the same time, not all experts agree with the need for such steps. Electronic warfare specialist Sergei Beskrestnov noted that mobile communications in themselves are not used for direct control of “shaheds.” However, he acknowledged that mobile Internet can help drones transmit data, navigate in space, and coordinate actions.

Opponents of the idea of restrictions believe that turning off mobile communications will make life more difficult for ordinary citizens, but will not be a decisive factor in the fight against drones. Some military experts also argue that the mobile network is an auxiliary, but not a critical tool for adjusting the actions of drones.
