The Verkhovna Rada failed to vote to expel fugitive and controversial Servant of the People MP Oleksandr Kunitsky from the Law Enforcement Committee.
222 people’s deputies out of the 226 required voted for the corresponding initiative No. 14101.
The purpose of the document is to ensure the effective operation of the Verkhovna Rada committees during martial law.
The draft resolution, among other things, proposed recalling Oleksandr Kunitsky, a member of parliament from the Servant of the People faction, from his position as a member of the Committee on Law Enforcement.
The document also proposed making several more changes to the composition of parliamentary committees.
As is known, Servant of the People MP Oleksandr Kunitsky, who went on a business trip abroad, has still not returned to Ukraine.
In December 2023, it was reported that Servant of the People MP Oleksandr Kunitsky received approval from the Verkhovna Rada in the summer to leave for a short-term business trip of five days, but instead spent almost three weeks abroad.
As a reminder, in 2023, it was reported that Artem Dmitruk and Oleksandr Kunitsky, members of parliament from the Servant of the People faction, beat a young man in Kyiv.
