The head of the Antimonopoly Committee was summoned to the Verkhovna Rada amid the situation on the fuel market. Pavlo Kyrylenko is scheduled to appear on Wednesday, March 11.
This is reported by an Ukrinform correspondent.
Yes, the People’s Deputies adopted the relevant decision during today’s plenary session.
“I propose to summon the Chairman of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine Pavlo Kyrylenko to the Verkhovna Rada tomorrow at 12:00, so that he can report to us what is happening, why the prices at gas stations are like this, why the price of fuel in Ukraine has increased much more than in European countries, why it has increased in one day,” said the initiator of the summons, People’s Deputy Oleksiy Honcharenko.
156 people’s deputies voted for the decision to summon the head of the AMCU, which is enough for the decision to be adopted.
Recall that Ukrainian gas stations, taking advantage of events in the Middle East, raised fuel prices to increase profits , despite the fact that the situation in the Persian Gulf has not yet had an impact on the market.
As previously reported, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine gave gas station chains three days to explain the reasons for the sharp increase in prices for light petroleum products . The agency is checking whether market participants could have acted in concert.
By the way, the Government plans to stabilize the situation in the fuel market and curb price increases . To do this, they will strengthen control over operators and involve state-owned companies.
