Russian communist leader Gennady Zyuganov has warned of a risk of a repeat of the 1917 revolution in Russia amid economic problems and growing discontent.
This is reported by The Times .
According to the politician, the Russian economy is rapidly deteriorating, and he called the first quarter of the year a “complete disaster.” He called on the authorities to urgently make financial and economic decisions, otherwise the country could face a scenario similar to the events of 1917 in the fall.
Zyuganov also complained that the authorities do not respond to his party’s proposals, but pay attention to the statements of public figures. In particular, he mentioned blogger Victoria Bonya, who criticized the situation in the country, and her video has gained tens of millions of views.
Against this background, experts speak of increasing internal tensions in Russia. Political scientist Abbas Gallyamov ironically commented on the communists’ statements, calling them “strange.”
At the same time, analysts say the Russian government is increasingly focusing on the war against Ukraine, ignoring domestic problems. They believe this could lead to a loss of control amid growing social discontent.
It was previously reported that Ukrainian special services obtained recordings of telephone conversations of the head of the Central Bank of Russia, Elvira Nabiullina , who in private conversations gave extremely pessimistic forecasts about the stability of the Russian financial system in the coming months. These data differ significantly from the official Kremlin propaganda.
