The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the capture of the Ostriv microdistrict in Kherson by the occupiers, but this information is not true.
This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation.
In particular, hostile Telegram channels, citing the Russian Defense Ministry, spread posts about the Russian army crossing the Dnieper River and capturing Quarantine Island.
However, the 34th Marine Coast Guard Brigade denied the propaganda hoax by posting a video online of Ukrainian military personnel in the allegedly “captured” area.
In addition, it is noted that the Russians are unable to cross and gain a foothold on the right bank of the Dnieper.
“Kherson and the coast are under the control of Ukrainian defenders,” the Central Military District emphasized.
It was previously reported that Russian troops are allegedly preparing to land in the Korabelny district of Kherson with the aim of recapturing the city. However, the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine consider this possibility unlikely.
We remind you that the occupiers are transferring their assault groups to the temporarily occupied territories of the Kherson region in order to intensify attacks and take control of the island zone.
