The Russians are trying to cut off logistics and semi-encircle Kostyantynivka: what is known about the enemy’s tactics

The Russian occupation army is trying to semi-encircle Kostyantynivka in the Donetsk region, attacking from several directions — Chasovye Yar, Toretsk, and Pokrovsk — Myrnograd.

This was stated in a comment to Hromadske by a soldier whose brigade is defending the city.

As he said, the situation near the city has changed somewhat. In particular, there are no large-scale offensive actions similar to those that took place a year or a year and a half ago, when the occupiers used tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, and motorized vehicles.

Instead, the enemy is now making attempts to storm with small infantry groups, consisting of two or three people. There have also been cases of sabotage and reconnaissance groups making their way into the city. Units of the Defense Forces engaged them in firefights, and they managed to destroy the DRG.

The military assumed that the Russian army cannot capture the city, so it is destroying it. Now Konstantinovka is under Russian shelling every day. The enemy uses drones and aerial bombs.

In addition, the occupiers are looking for a weak spot in the defense and are trying to cut off the Ukrainian defenders from logistics and are setting up ambushes at the entrances to the settlement.

It has become more difficult for the Defense Forces units to work now. Infantry groups cannot be transported to positions, they have to walk and stay there longer. At the same time, ground robotic complexes are used for provisions and other logistics.

It is noted that the military lacks foreign weapons and UAVs – night FPV drones and fiber-optic drones.

“They have many more drones. Their FPV drones fly longer distances now than they did a year ago. It is more difficult for us to carry out logistics, rotation, transportation, and evacuation of the wounded. However, I would not say that they completely control the sky,” the source assured the publication.

It was previously reported that the occupiers had concentrated elite marine units near Kostyantynivka .

It is worth noting that the Russian occupation forces are trying to advance towards the city of Konstantinovka in the Donetsk region, in particular, the enemy’s main goal is to reach the outskirts of the city.

Recall that in the summer, significant Russian activity on the front was observed in the eastern part of the Pokrovsky direction , where the enemy tried to break through to Kostyantynivka.
