The Russians are trying to open a new direction on the front: which region is under threat?

The Russian army is trying to open a new direction on the front in the Zaporizhia region, launching assaults in the direction of the settlement of Stepove.

This was stated in a comment to Ukrinform by the spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces, Vladyslav Voloshyn.

“This morning, the enemy tried to open a new direction – to launch assaults in the direction of the settlement of Stepove,” he explained.

Currently, the Russians have concentrated resources near the village of Zherebyanky and are preparing to storm the positions of the Defense Forces in the direction of Lukyanivske.

“Today, there were already two such assaults in the morning on the settlement of Stepove, and in one of such clashes, the enemy even tried to carry out a mass assault on motorcycles, using six vehicles,” Voloshyn noted.

Russian military personnel attempted to break into the village on motorcycles and occupy Ukrainian positions. However, the Defense Forces managed to repel the attack, destroying the occupiers and equipment.

It was previously reported that Russia is preparing assault attacks on Stepovoe – the occupiers are replenishing the companies with mobilized troops.

By the way, the enemy makes daily attempts to capture Kamianske and Plavni in the Zaporizhia region and reach the outskirts of Primorske for a further offensive.

Let us remind you that the Russian army is making progress on the front: the enemy has taken new positions in the Zaporizhia region – near Novoivanivka and in Poltava.
