Desperate Russian Assaults: Small Units, Heavy Shelling, Relentless Pressure

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, stated that the Pokrovsk direction in Donetsk remains a key focus of the Russian offensive.

According to Syrskyi, the Russians are suffering significant losses in the Pokrovsk direction: Ukrainian forces are identifying where enemy assault groups are gathering and destroying them.
At the same time, the Defense Forces continue active operations in the Dobropillya area. This forces the occupiers to disperse their units, preventing them from concentrating their main efforts in the Pokrovsk sector.
During the Dobropillya operation, Ukrainian troops liberated 189 sq. km of the Donetsk region and cleared more than 250 sq. km of enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups.
In the Hulyaipole and Orikhiv directions of Zaporizhia, the Russian army is actively shelling Ukrainian positions and operating in small assault groups, attempting to exhaust the Defense Forces.
However, Ukrainian defenders are working to block and systematically target enemy forces near the settlements of Yablukove, Vesele, and Solodke.
“Our units are also carrying out search-and-strike operations to locate and eliminate enemy sabotage groups attempting to penetrate deep into our defenses,” Syrskyi noted.
He added that over the past 24 hours alone, 239 Russian occupiers were killed or wounded in the southern directions, and 43 units of various military equipment were destroyed.
As a reminder, Syrskyi identified the main tasks of the Ukrainian military in Pokrovsk – gradual control of certain areas, support, and protection of existing logistical routes.
It is worth noting that the Russians have pulled a significant part of their forces to Pokrovsk. According to Syrskyi, the occupation of the city will be the enemy’s last maneuver to capture the Donetsk region.
By the way, Ukrainian soldiers have increased pressure on the Pokrovsk direction in the Dobropillya area, which is forcing the Russian occupiers to disperse their own forces.
