On August 23-24, Russian troops continued their offensive in several directions, but were unable to achieve any confirmed territorial gains. Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces conducted counterattacks, held their positions, and made local advances.

This is stated in a new report by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

In the northern Kharkiv region, Russian troops launched an unsuccessful attack, particularly near Vovchansk, where Ukrainian defenders launched a counterattack. Fighting also continued in the direction of Velykyi Burluk.

The occupiers continued their assaults in the Kupyansk and Borovsk areas, but no confirmed advances were recorded. Geolocation data also indicates that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are maintaining their positions near Novoplatonovka.

Without any confirmed territorial gains, Russian troops also operated in the areas of Konstantinovka and Druzhkovka, Dobropolye, Pokrovsk, Novopavlovka and Aleksandrovka.

At the same time, advances by Ukrainian forces have been recorded in the Sloviansk sector. Geolocation footage confirms the movement of Ukrainian Armed Forces east of Dibrova, near Lyman.

In addition to combat operations at the front, Ukrainian troops continued to target the occupying forces’ rear infrastructure. Specifically, the General Staff reported the destruction of logistics depots in Stepnoye and Khrustalnoye in the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk Oblast.
