The Russians changed their tactics of assaults in Myrnograd: what is known about the situation in the city

For some time, Myrnograd in the Donetsk region has remained one of the priority settlements in the Pokrovsky direction for the Russian occupiers.

This was reported by the 7th Corps of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

It is noted that for the past six months, the city has been a key target for the enemy. There, the Russians are constantly trying to find weaknesses in the Ukrainian defense, changing tactics, building up forces, and making breakthrough attempts.

However, despite pressure from the Russian army, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold Myrnograd, thus thwarting the enemy’s plans.

At the same time, the situation there remains difficult, as the Russians have concentrated 10 units around the city, and they continue to accumulate forces in the south and northeastern outskirts.

Since the beginning of the year, the enemy has changed tactics, reducing the number of open assaults and increasing infiltration efforts into the center of Myrnograd.

Defense forces are conducting search and strike operations in Myrnograd and on the approaches to it to prevent further enemy advance.

In particular, on one occasion, Ukrainian soldiers discovered an enemy hiding in a shelter on a farm near Myrnograd. The Russians planned to use the location to accumulate forces, further cut off logistics, and carry out sabotage operations behind the positions of the Defense Forces.

“For camouflage, several groups of occupiers have been using the facility’s engineering communications – cesspools – for a long time with a certain frequency. After discovering the occupiers’ hiding place in the farm building, units of the 79th separate Tavria airborne assault brigade eliminated the Russians,” the corps’ press service summarized.

As reported, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are repelling the assault on the settlement of Hryshyne, while the situation in Myrnograd remains difficult .

Earlier, Russian occupation troops advanced in the city of Myrnograd in the Donetsk region, and in addition, they managed to expand the zone of control near the settlements of Chervonyi Liman and Filiya in the Pokrovsky direction.

We will remind, over the past 24 hours in the Pokrovsky direction, the Defense Forces stopped 33 assault actions of the aggressor in the areas of the settlements of Nikanorivka, Chervonyi Liman, Rodynske, Myrnograd, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Filiya, Dachne.
