The Russians have learned to intercept Ukrainian long-range drones using anti-aircraft drones.

This is stated in the Defense Express article.

In particular, the enemy is already able to neutralize the most popular models of UAVs that Ukraine uses for deep strikes against the Russian Federation – “Fluty”, FP-1, as well as a drone based on a light-engine aircraft.

The Russians launch several interceptor drones that move both to chase the target and to meet it.

“On the one hand, this was expected, because the Ukrainian Defense Forces have been using anti-aircraft UAVs to shoot down Russian Gerbers and Shaheds for a considerable time. Accordingly, it was only a matter of time before the enemy would adapt the corresponding means,” Defense Express emphasizes.

Instead, Ukraine needs to look for ways to counter Russian interceptor drones, because “deep strikes” have become the basis for hitting energy facilities and the Russian defense-industrial complex.

As noted, the solution to the problem could be to increase the flight altitude. However, this also has its consequences, in particular, targets will become more visible to enemy air and ground-based weapons. This way, the UAV will be easier to shoot down.

To counter anti-aircraft drones, surveillance cameras are installed on attack drones that provide signals for evasion.

At the same time, the publication adds that it is difficult to determine to what extent this is feasible for larger, long-range systems, which must remain cheap.

Recall that Russian troops are seeking to create a so-called “dead” zone along the border with Ukraine, and the geography of attacks by “shaheeds” may expand deep into the country.
