The SBU and the National Police exposed five mobilization evasion schemes: how much did the “services” cost?

The Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police have blocked five schemes for evading military service and mobilization in various regions of the country. Law enforcement officers have detained 11 organizers of the schemes.

This was reported to the SBU.

It is known that the defendants demanded from 5 to 22 thousand dollars for their “services”. With this money, they helped conscripts avoid conscription, illegally discharge from military service, or go abroad.

Seven members of a criminal organization were detained in the Lviv region , who organized the illegal dismissal of mobilized soldiers from service and the evasion of conscripts from military service.

The scheme involved representatives of the criminal world, members of the VLK, officials of hospitals and military units, as well as employees of the CCC. For up to $20,000, they offered a full package of services — from issuing medical certificates of unfitness for service with the establishment of group II disability to removal from military registration due to health reasons.

In the Rivne region, law enforcement officers exposed a local lawyer who organized the production of fictitious medical documents about alleged serious illnesses.

To implement the scheme, he recruited familiar officials from the expert team to assess the daily functioning of the person who replaced the MSEC. They falsified medical histories and subsequently assigned disability groups to clients. The cost of such services was $9,000.

A former employee of the Pokrovsky CCC was detained in the Donetsk region . He suggested that conscripts avoid search and military registration on the basis of fake medical reports.

To do this, the man used his connections among local VLK officials. The bribes amounted to 22 thousand dollars.

A resident of the Smilyansky district was detained in the Cherkasy region , who promised to issue military conscripts with “protection” from mobilization using fictitious diagnoses for $10,000.

She involved familiar employees of the military medical commission and the CCC in the scheme.

In the Kirovohrad region, SBU cyber experts exposed a resident of Oleksandria who was distributing information on Telegram channels about the locations and routes of mobile groups of the CCK. He also called on those liable for military service to evade conscription.

To do this, the man used his own Telegram account, whose audience numbered over 4.4 thousand subscribers.

The suspects are being charged under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, including illegal smuggling of people across the state border, abuse of influence, creation and participation in a criminal organization, and obstruction of the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations during a special period.

For what they have done, they face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
