The Security Service of Ukraine detained a married couple in Odessa who were planning to commit a terrorist attack near Ukrainian military bases.

The SBU press service reported this.

According to investigators, Russian intelligence agencies gave the detainees the coordinates of a cache containing an improvised explosive device. Prior to this, the agents monitored the locations of the largest concentrations of defense forces personnel, marked these locations on a map, and reported to their Russian handler. After receiving “approval,” they were to plant the explosives at one of the locations.

The perpetrators turned out to be an unemployed married couple from Odessa, recruited online by Russians. During searches, their phones were seized, revealing them to be in possession of the enemy.

The detainees are currently in custody. They face life imprisonment and confiscation of property.

The SBU previously exposed a Russian agent among Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel . A soldier from a strike drone company was transmitting information about Ukrainian forces’ operational plans to the FSB.

The Security Service of Ukraine also exposed and detained a major instructor from one of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ air brigades , who turned out to be a Russian intelligence agent. The suspect was planning strikes on Ukrainian airfields where F-16, Mirage 2000, and Su-24 aircraft are based.

As a reminder, the SBU detained two Russian informants who leaked information about the SBU positions near Slavyansk to the occupiers and spied on Ukrainian Armed Forces echelons.
