The Security Service of Ukraine will conduct counterintelligence (security) operations in Lviv from March 5 to 9. These operations will cover the entire city.
The SBU Directorate in Lviv Oblast reported this.
It is noted that the National Police of Ukraine and the National Guard of Ukraine will also be involved in carrying out security measures.
As law enforcement officials explained, these actions are aimed at identifying, preventing, and neutralizing threats of intelligence and subversive activities against Ukraine, as well as improving the safety of citizens in the face of Russian armed aggression.
During the events, temporary restrictions on access and travel on certain city streets may be imposed. Law enforcement officers may also check citizens’ documents and inspect vehicles.
“If reasonable suspicions arise regarding certain individuals, additional investigations may be conducted,” the SBU noted.
In addition, they will inspect common areas and premises to identify prohibited items.
The SBU called on citizens to be understanding of potential inconveniences, carry identification documents, and observe the curfew.
