Ukraine Opens a New Front Against Ozon, Striking Its Russian Logistics Hub for the First Time
This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The Ministry of Defense noted that systematic strikes on dual-use goods storage centers complicate the logistics of the Russian army and affect the Russian economy.
“Systematic strikes on dual-use goods storage centers complicate the enemy’s logistics and negatively affect the Russian economy as a whole,” the department said in a statement.
The Ministry of Defense also recalled that Ukrainian units had previously struck 15 of the largest logistics hubs of the Russian marketplace Wildberries.
“Our long-range sanctions are working—effectively and efficiently,” the department emphasized.
According to monitoring sites, after the drones were hit, a large-scale fire broke out on the complex’s grounds, and a thick column of smoke rose above the facility.
The Ozon logistics hub in Chapayevsk covers 135,000 square meters and is one of the largest warehouse facilities in the Volga region. Investments in its construction amounted to about 5 billion rubles.
Ozon is the second-largest marketplace in Russia’s online trading market after Wildberries.
It was previously reported that a drone hit a warehouse of the Russian marketplace Wildberries in the Moscow region. After the strike, a fire broke out at the facility, which, according to local authorities, was successfully contained.
As a reminder, Ukraine has disabled 7 of the 10 largest logistics centers of the Russian company Wildberries. After a drone attack in the Moscow region, the company’s largest warehouse, with an area of 250 thousand m², stopped working.
By the way, on August 10-11, as part of an operation in Russian cyberspace, the Cyber Corps community attacked Wildberries’ digital infrastructure. The attack disrupted remote customer service and payment infrastructure, and contact centers experienced additional load.
