Russian occupation forces in the northern part of Kupyansk, Kharkiv region, have been cut off from major supply routes, further complicating their operations.

This was reported during a telethon by Viktor Tregubov, head of the communications department of the Joint Forces Group.

According to him, Russian forces are currently attempting to deliver food and ammunition using drones.

In addition, they are unable to receive reinforcements effectively. These factors have significantly complicated the situation for the occupying forces, although there is currently no risk of full encirclement.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue operations aimed at destroying Russian units within the city.

“They are now in a far worse situation than the Ukrainian defenders ever were at their most difficult moments,” Tregubov said.

He added that urban combat is ongoing in Kupyansk, carrying a high risk of casualties and rapid changes on the ground.

“But we can already say with confidence that, in this regard, the Russians are worse off,” the official noted.

Tregubov also noted that the enemy is trying to demonstrate its presence in the settlement using flags dropped from drones.

Recall that the Russians have developed a logistical route through a gas pipe, with the help of which they overcame Oskil and entered Kupyansk.

By the way, the situation on the front in the Kharkiv region remains difficult: the Russian occupiers have accumulated forces and set a goal of capturing Kupyansk.

Earlier reports indicated that Russian occupiers have amassed a significant number of troops in Kupyansk, allowing them to expand their control over the central part of the city.

As is known, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are conducting an operation to clear Kupyansk of Russian occupiers. About 60 Russian servicemen remain in the city.
