The situation in Kupyansk has stabilized, but near Vovchansk it has become more difficult: what is the situation in the Kharkiv region?

There are few Russians left in the city of Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region, they are blocked in the city center. However, the situation in Vovchansk is much more complicated.

This was stated by the spokesman for the Joint Forces Group, Viktor Tregubov, during a telethon.

According to him, about 50 Russian servicemen still remain in Kupyansk.

“The group that is sitting in the city center is either scared or hopes that they will somehow be freed from there. But this means that the command is keeping them in a state of delusion, because there is no chance of physically freeing them from there,” Tregubov explained.

At the same time, the occupiers are located north of the city, as well as east of the Defense Forces’ bridgehead on the banks of the Oskol, where they are actively trying to exert pressure.

Tregubov emphasized that the enemy wanted to reduce or occupy the bridgehead, but after months of efforts, the Russians were unable to do so.

“Now the active destruction of Russians is underway there. It is in the city of Kupyansk and its surroundings that the situation is quite even and very positive from our point of view, including from the point of view of the destruction of enemy forces,” he said.

Meanwhile, the situation in Vovchansk is more complicated, as the city is completely destroyed and there are no natural barriers such as the Oskil River.

“In principle, the Russians have been pressing there for a very long time, and the distance to the border is minimal. Therefore, unfortunately, they are putting pressure on Vovchansk, on the outskirts of the city, where Ukrainian positions are held,” the spokesman added.

As he noted, the enemy is also pressing on Vilcha and Vovchanski Khutory, making attempts to infiltrate deeper.

It was previously reported that Russian troops currently stationed in Kupyansk, Kharkiv Oblast, are concentrated in several blocks of the city.
