On Saturday, June 21, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, while communicating with journalists, made a number of statements regarding the situation on the front, massive air strikes, sanctions against the Russian Federation, and the return of Minister of National Unity Oleksiy Chernyshov.

In particular, according to him, as of now, 695 thousand Russian soldiers are stationed on the territory of Ukraine. In addition, a certain number of Russians are in the Kursk and Belgorod directions, and there are also about 52 thousand occupiers from the Sumy direction.

Within a week, Russian troops advanced 200 meters towards Sumy, but Ukrainian defenders pushed them back 200–400 meters. Zelensky noted that 23% of bombs and strikes along the entire front line fell on the Sumy direction.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, small enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups — two to four people each — are constantly trying to break through.

At the same time, Zelenskyy commented on the latest massive Russian strikes on Ukraine, assuring that not a single Patriot system was damaged during them.

“About a third of the ‘shaheeds’ are shot down by mobile fire groups. We have started using interceptors. Four companies in Ukraine produce these interceptors. Of the four companies, two are very successful,” he explained.

Separately, Zelensky said that in the summer, Ukraine will sign documents on exporting technologies abroad to European countries. In return, weapons will be produced there, including for Ukrainian needs.

By the way, Ukraine has already submitted to the United States a list of weapons it is ready to purchase and is currently waiting for a response.

In addition, the president noted that sanctions against the banking and energy sectors of the Russian Federation will seriously affect its economy.

“Sanctions on the banking system definitely slow down the process and create difficulties. There are opinions that the banking system is more effective. And I believe that the energy system is more effective,” he is convinced.

Among other things, Zelenskyy mentioned Minister Chernyshov, emphasizing that he is on a business trip abroad, after which he will return to Ukraine.

The president also reacted to rumors about a change of government. As he said, “there was no such conversation with Shmyhal.”
