On Friday, November 7, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a briefing during which he made a number of statements, Suspilne reported .
In particular, he commented on the situation in Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region. According to him, there are currently 314 occupiers in the city. In addition, the Russian army has carried out 220 assault operations there over the past three days.
The situation is also difficult in the Kharkiv region near Volchansk, where the enemy is accumulating its forces. In contrast, in Kupyansk, Ukrainian defenders have advanced 1.1-1.2 km.
Overall, the Defense Forces continue to inflict losses on the occupiers. For example, in October they destroyed about 25,000 Russian soldiers – the largest number of Russian losses in one month since the start of the full-scale invasion.
Among other things, Zelensky announced the establishment of a process to scale up the production of an alternative to Mavic drones.
At the same time, Ukraine is preparing a program to counter enemy drones in frontline cities, in particular in Kherson. It involves detecting, intercepting, and neutralizing UAVs.
In addition to the president, Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal spoke at the briefing. He noted that under the new contracts, servicemen can receive a salary of 50,000–60,000 hryvnias, and they also provide for a deferment from service upon completion.
The minister also emphasized that Ukraine and Sweden have agreed to significantly localize the production of Gripen fighters from 2033. In this way, the process will cover work from large-scale assembly to the localization of individual parts.
