The sky is their front: today is Army Aviation Day in Ukraine

Today, July 3, Ukraine honors the soldiers of the Army Aviation of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces. This professional holiday was introduced to pay tribute to the courage, determination, and self-sacrifice of those who perform combat missions in the sky — often at the limit of what is possible.

Army aviation plays a key role in modern warfare, providing mobility, supporting ground forces, evacuating the wounded, responding quickly to threats, and delivering pinpoint strikes on the enemy. Ukrainian helicopter pilots are true professionals who operate in the most difficult conditions, often under air defense fire or in the zone of missile strikes.

Hundreds of sorties, dozens of successful operations, lives saved, and enemy equipment destroyed — this is the daily work of army pilots. In the current conditions of a full-scale Russian invasion, their role is especially critical.

The holiday is also an occasion to remember those who gave their lives while performing their duty to their homeland. Their heroism is part of the modern history of the Ukrainian military, and their memory is indelible.

Ukraine thanks every soldier of the army aviation for their loyalty to the oath, resilience, and combat skill.
