The State Security Service of Ukraine exposed a Russian agent who was collecting data for attacks in Odessa
The Security Service of Ukraine exposed a Russian agent in the ranks of the State Border Guard Service, who was coordinating missile and drone strikes on Odessa.
This was reported by the press center of the SBU.
The person in question turned out to be a sailor from the Coast Guard, recruited by the FSB. He was collecting data on Ukrainian air defense positions and passing it on to the enemy.
According to the investigation , the agent identified the locations of mobile fire groups, radar stations , and anti-aircraft batteries defending the skies of Odessa. Russian troops planned to use this data to prepare new strikes to bypass air defenses.
Among the enemy’s main targets were the locations of concentration of Ukrainian military personnel performing tasks in the southern direction.
The SBU established that the attacker traveled around the city and its surroundings by taxi, where he secretly photographed military facilities on his phone.
Law enforcement officers detained him while performing a task, when he was recording the facade of a military facility for an upcoming missile strike.
According to the investigation, the man contacted FSB representatives via Telegram channels in search of quick money .
During the search, a smartphone containing evidence of collaboration with the enemy was seized from him .
Investigators informed the detainee of suspicion of treason under martial law . The court chose for him a preventive measure – detention without bail .
He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
It was previously reported that military counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine prevented Russia’s attempt to eliminate the commander of the Third Army Corps of the Defense Forces, Brigadier General Andriy Biletsky.
