On Thursday, February 19, the Earth will be covered by a strong red-level magnetic storm.

This was reported by the NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center.

Experts predict an increase in solar activity to K-index 6. This indicator corresponds to a strong geomagnetic storm. During this period, weather-dependent people may experience headaches, fatigue, and general malaise. Interruptions in communication and satellite systems are also possible.

On February 20, activity will decrease to K-index 4, which corresponds to a yellow level and a medium storm. On February 21, the geomagnetic situation will stabilize to K-index 2 – a green level with minimal impact on health and technology.

Magnetic storms occur after solar flares. Charged particles reach the Earth’s magnetosphere and cause disturbances. With K-index values of 7-8, auroras can be observed in various regions, as well as failures of radio frequencies and communication systems.

Doctors note that there are no special remedies against magnetic storms. Doctors advise to adhere to a sleep schedule, avoid stress, reduce the consumption of alcohol, coffee and heavy food. Water, herbal teas, walks in the fresh air and moderate physical activity will help to support the body. A contrast shower in the morning and a warm bath in the evening also contribute to adaptation to changes in the geomagnetic situation.
