The lawyer for the fifth President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, Ilya Novikov, stated that the Security Service of Ukraine exerted pressure on the judges of the Supreme Court during the consideration of the case regarding the appeal of sanctions against his client.
This was reported by the press service of the European Solidarity party.
According to Novikov, the defense has information that SBU employees Eduard Rudyuk and Vitaliy Solodzhuk are allegedly involved in this.
“We will appeal to their leadership, to Mr. Poklad, who actually heads the SBU, with a demand to check the activities of these people and check whether they really tried to put pressure on the court,” the lawyer said.
Novikov also claims that four court hearings in this case have been disrupted since the beginning of 2026. In his opinion, this was allegedly done in order to influence the court’s decision.
In addition, the lawyer stated that the Supreme Court’s decision will be appealed.
“I can already say that this decision will be appealed. Its illegality is beyond any doubt. It is illegal and unfounded,” he said.
Novikov also stated that during the consideration of the case, the defense allegedly discovered falsification of documents that served as the basis for the imposition of sanctions, and accused the presidential representative for sanctions, Vladyslav Vlasyuk, of unlawful actions.
Earlier it was reported that the Supreme Court refused to lift sanctions against Petro Poroshenko . European Solidarity called this decision illegal and stated that it could affect Ukraine’s European integration.
