The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court has imposed a preventive measure of 24-hour house arrest on Serhiy Kuzminy, a member of parliament from the Servant of the People party.

This became known from the broadcast of the court hearing.

The court placed Kuzminykh under 24-hour house arrest for two months and ordered him to wear an electronic bracelet. This decision took effect immediately and cannot be appealed.

The prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office asked the court to take the MP into custody without the possibility of bail. The prosecution believes that Kuzminykh intentionally delayed the consideration of the case by not appearing at court hearings in order to wait for the statute of limitations to expire.

At the same time, the deputy’s defense denied these allegations. The lawyer stated that the defense did not file a motion to close the proceedings due to the expiration of the statute of limitations, and Kuzminykh himself did not hide and reported his absence in advance.

In addition to house arrest, the Supreme Court of Ukraine decided to collect from the state the bail in the amount of 49,620 hryvnias, which the MP paid in May 2022.

As a reminder, NABU detectives detained MP Serhiy Kuzminykh , who is accused of abuse of influence and receiving illegal benefits for assisting private companies in winning tenders for the supply of medical equipment in the Zhytomyr region.
