The telethon will receive 638 million this year: whose content is the most expensive?

On April 22, the Ukrainian Multimedia Broadcasting Platform signed four agreements with television channels to create content for the 2026 “United News #UATogether” marathon for a total of UAH 637.96 million.

The value of contracts for the current year is approximately 179-180 million UAH, except for the smallest contract with Inter for 100 million UAH.

Hourly rates vary and have not changed compared to last year.

Including expenses for another “Freedom” telethon, content producers for both marathons were paid approximately 3 billion hryvnias, according to data from ProZorro and Spending.

We Are Ukraine LLC joined the telethon at the end of 2022. After Rinat Akhmetov’s Ukraine News Group surrendered its broadcasting license to the state in July 2022, its journalists transferred to the new We Are Ukraine television channel.

The director, owner of 79.5% of the authorized capital and beneficiary of the company is Igor Petrenko.

According to MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak, the “My – Ukraine” channel is operating on seized equipment from Oleksiy Kovalev’s “Channel 4” and, likely, some of the equipment from Yevhen Murayev’s “Nash” channel.

SLM News LLC (information production company of the StarLightMedia group) is owned by Viktor Pinchuk.

LLC “Television and Radio Company “Studio 1+1” is part of the group of sanctioned Igor Kolomoisky.

Inter TV Channel PJSC is owned by sanctioned Dmitry Firtash.

The procurement justifications noted that in 2023, these television channels won a creative competition for the right to speak on the telethon, and therefore direct agreements were concluded with them.

It was recently reported that the state-owned company “Rada” Parliamentary Television Channel is returning to the telethon. However, it has not yet signed a contract, as the art competition is currently underway.
