The UAF has identified a candidate to replace Malderi in the Ukrainian national team – media

The Ukrainian national team has had a poor start to the group stage of the Nations League, collecting only four points in four matches. The Ukrainian Football Association has already decided on the main candidate for the position of coach of the team in the event of Andrea Maldera’s resignation.

This is reported by journalist Igor Burbas.

According to him, the main candidate for the position of coach of the Ukrainian national team is Oleg Luzhnyi, who is currently working with the youth team.

Previously, Luzhnyi also applied for the position of head coach of the Ukrainian youth national team. However, the team was then led by Dmytro Mykhailenko.

Luzhnyi has experience working in the Dynamo coaching staff. Over the years, he has been an assistant to Yuri Semin, Valeriy Gazzayev, Anatoly Demyanenko, Jozsef Szabo, and Oleksandr Khatskevich.

In addition, the specialist worked as the sports director of Karpaty.
