The Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked a Russian factory in Alchevsk and damaged an important A-50 reconnaissance aircraft

The Ukrainian Defense Forces struck Russian military-industrial complex facilities in the temporarily occupied territories on the night of March 20. Additionally, damage to an A-50 long-range radar detection aircraft after the hit on March 17 was confirmed.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the General Staff, among the targets hit were the facilities of the Alchevsk Metallurgical Plant in the temporarily occupied territory of the Luhansk region. The enterprise is involved in the production of artillery shell bodies, as well as the production and repair of armored steel for military equipment of the Russian army.

Damage to the infrastructure of the “Vostochny” training ground, located near the settlement of Novopetrivka in the temporarily occupied territory of the Zaporizhia region, was also recorded.

“On the night of March 20, the Defense Forces of Ukraine struck important objects of the Russian aggressor,” the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.

Separately, the results of the strike on March 17 on the facilities of the 123rd aircraft repair plant in the city of Staraya Russa, Novgorod region of the Russian Federation have been clarified. According to updated data, an A-50 long-range radar detection aircraft was damaged, which was undergoing maintenance and could be awaiting modernization.

“The scale of the damage caused and the enemy’s losses are being clarified,” the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted.

The department emphasized that the Defense Forces of Ukraine will continue to strike key objects of the military-industrial complex of the Russian Federation until the armed aggression against Ukraine ceases.

The day before, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck two factories in Russia — an aircraft manufacturing plant in the Ulyanovsk region and an aircraft repair plant in the Novgorod region.

As a reminder, on March 10 , a missile attack hit the Silicon plant in Bryansk, Russia , which produces electronics for Russian missiles.
