On the night of September 18, the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck the Volgograd Oil Refinery (REF) on the territory of the Russian Federation.
This is reported by the SSO command.
This facility is one of the key ones in Russian military logistics: it supplies fuel to Russian army units and processes about 15.7 million tons of oil each year – more than 5% of the total volume of oil refining in Russia.
According to preliminary data, the enterprise stopped work as a result of the impact.
The SSO emphasized that strikes on the enemy’s critical infrastructure are part of an asymmetric strategy of pressure on the Russian army, aimed at disrupting the front’s support.
As a reminder, the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in coordination with other units of the Defense Forces, conducted a successful operation on the territory of Russia. As a result, a strike was carried out on the Saratov Oil Refinery, located in the Saratov Region of the Russian Federation .
As reported, on the night of September 14, 2025 , the Kirishi Oil Refinery (KINEF) in the Leningrad Region of Russia was attacked by drones.
