Third Army Corps spokesman Alexander Borodin denied the statement by Russian Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov about the alleged complete occupation of the Luhansk region.
He told Interfax-Ukraine about this.
According to him, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to control the settlements of Nadezhda, Novoegorovka, and the Grekovka area.
Borodin noted that Russian troops are actively attacking in this direction—over the past six months, there have been more than 150 assaults involving significant forces. However, despite the pressure, the front line remains unchanged.
He also emphasized that this direction remains strategic for Russian troops, as it is linked to the advance toward Sloviansk and Kramatorsk, but that claims of complete control over the Luhansk region are not true.
