The Ukrainian Women’s Congress will be held in Vinnytsia on March 30.

On Monday, March 30, the regional Ukrainian Women’s Congress “The Power of Women. Vinnytsia Region” will be held in Vinnytsia. It will focus on the role of women in building strong and resilient communities.

The organization’s website reports this. 

Regional Ukrainian Women’s Congresses are held throughout Ukraine to make visible the experiences of women leaders in communities.  and scale it up across the country.

The event in Vinnytsia will bring together military personnel, veterans, representatives of government, business, the public sector, and international organizations. Its main protagonists will be women who are transforming the lives of their communities through their decisions. These are people with personal stories of leadership: a mother who lost her son and started a social initiative for veterans in his memory, spouses of the fallen who are starting businesses to help the front, and a regional council member who is fighting on the front lines.

“The event in Vinnytsia focuses on the experiences of women’s leadership, which is emerging in the regions in response to the challenges of war. We will explore how personal leadership is transformed into responsible leadership: when women support the resilience of their communities and the entire country,” noted Olena Kondratyuk, co-founder of the Ukrainian Women’s Congress and vice-speaker. 

“Congress participants will discuss practical solutions that help communities remain resilient and thrive even in challenging conditions,” said Svetlana Voitsehovskaya, co-founder and director of the Congress.

“We will pay special attention to the role of communities and women leaders on the path to the European Union,” said Maria Ionova, co-founder of the Ukrainian Women’s Congress and Member of Parliament. 

Among the event’s key partners is the MHP-Gromadi Foundation, which will present successful cases of collaboration between socially responsible businesses and communities.

The Ukrainian Women’s Congress is a unique national platform for advancing equality policies in Ukraine. Founded in 2017, the Congress’s work has resulted in the lifting of bans on 450 “male” professions for women, the adoption of a gender quota in elections, and the granting of access to higher military education and permission for women to hold combat officer positions. The Ukrainian Women’s Congress annually holds an event in Kyiv and a series of special events in Ukraine’s regions.
