The Ukrainian women’s national football team starts its Nations League campaign: where to watch the match against England

The current Women’s Nations League competition also serves as a qualifier for the 2027 World Cup. Last season, the Ukrainian women’s team advanced to League A and will now compete against Europe’s strongest teams.

In Group 3, the blue-yellows’ opponents will be the women’s teams of England , Spain and Iceland .

The winner of this group will advance directly to the World Cup, while the teams finishing 2nd through 4th will continue their playoff campaign against teams from League B and League C. Given the strength of their opponents, the Ukrainians’ primary goal is to battle for 2nd and 3rd place, which will allow them to face easier opponents.

To give an idea of the level of competition, England and Spain met in the finals of the last World Cup and European Football Championships.

The Ukrainian team last played against the English team 12 years ago in the World Cup qualifiers, and then lost twice, 0:4 and 1:2.

Today, March 3, at 7:00 PM, the Ukrainian and English national teams will play in Antalya, Turkey. A high-scoring match is expected, including from the English team.
