The United States is planning to issue a new $1 commemorative coin featuring Donald Trump. It could be part of the celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States. The celebrations are scheduled for July 4, 2026.

As FOX Business reports , the Ministry of Finance confirmed that they are considering such a project.

“Under the historic leadership of President Donald J. Trump, our country enters its 250th anniversary stronger, more prosperous, and more successful than ever,” a department spokesman said.

The first sketch shows Trump against an American flag with a raised fist. The illustration refers to the moment of the assassination attempt on the politician in Pennsylvania, when he was injured in the ear.

The final design has not yet been approved, but the department believes that the project “well reflects the indomitable spirit of the country and democracy even in the face of enormous challenges.”

The US Mint already has experience issuing similar collector series: in 1986, the Statue of Liberty coin became the record-holder for sales – almost 15.5 million copies were purchased then.

Recall that European politicians are discussing an unconventional idea to encourage Donald Trump to more actively support Ukraine – byoffering him the Nobel Peace Prize as a kind of “diplomatic bonus” .
