Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth said that the United States’ strikes succeeded in destroying Iran’s nuclear program.
He said this during a press conference.
According to an American official, by attacking three Iranian sites, the US “erased Tehran’s nuclear ambitions.”
Hegset stressed that US President Donald Trump wants peace, and Iran “should understand that.”
He assured that the operation was not directed against the Iranian people or the military, it was a targeted strike on nuclear infrastructure.
“American deterrence is back,” he added.
At the same time, Hegset warned Iran against any retaliatory attacks, as the US would then strike much more forcefully.
As noted, the attack marked the first combat use of the GBU-57 MOP bomb.
Recall that the United States Air Force attacked Iran’s nuclear infrastructure , including the most protected facility in Fordow.
At the same time , Donald Trump’s administration is preparing for a potential response from Iran in the next 48 hours.
By the way, the Yemeni Houthis have entered the war in the Middle East and announced attacks in the Red Sea if the US intervenes in the conflict with Iran.
As it became known, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will visit Moscow to meet with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin amid US strikes on nuclear facilities.
