The United States has canceled a planned meeting between President Donald Trump and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin in Budapest.

The Financial Times reports this.

The decision was made after Moscow put forward overly harsh demands on Ukraine, which proved unacceptable to Washington.

According to the publication’s sources, the cancellation of the summit was the result of a “tense” telephone conversation at the highest diplomatic level between the parties.

As a reminder, on October 16, after a telephone conversation, Trump and Putin announced their readiness to meet within two weeks, choosing Budapest as the venue for the negotiations.

As a reminder, Donald Trump intended to meet with the head of the Kremlin in Hungary in order to end Russia’s war against Ukraine.

As is known, preparations were underway in Budapest for a meeting between American President Donald Trump and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

Incidentally, the current EU sanctions do not include a ban on entry for Putin and Lavrov , so this does not prevent a possible meeting between the Kremlin leader and Donald Trump in Budapest.
