The US will continue to provide Ukraine with offensive weapons until a peace agreement is signed.
This is reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a statement by the US Permanent Representative to NATO, Matthew Whitaker, which he made on the Newsmax TV channel.
According to him, Washington will sell weapons to NATO allies for as long as it takes to conclude a peace agreement, and the partners will transfer these weapons mainly to Ukraine.
Whitaker emphasized that Ukraine needs this assistance for air and missile defense, as well as to obtain offensive weapons necessary to continue the fight and prevent occupation by Russia.
He also stressed the importance of maintaining unity within NATO and strengthening allies.
According to him, it is the strength of the coalition that should become a guarantee of peace and prevent a new invasion of the European continent after the end of the war.
It was previously reported that Estonia is preparing a new military assistance package for Ukraine, which will include drones and counter-drone equipment.
