US Congress Finally Passes “Hellish Sanctions” Bill Against Russia

On the night of September 17, Kyiv time, the US House of Representatives passed a bill imposing “hellish” sanctions on Russia. The legislation now awaits President Donald Trump’s signature.

This was reported by Suspilne. The vote breakdown was 262 for and 159 against.

Republican Lindsey Graham, who has since passed away, and Democrat Richard Blumenthal drafted the bill. This document is known as the “Lindsey Graham bill.” In its final version, it allows Donald Trump to impose 100% tariffs on countries that purchase Russian energy or help Russia evade sanctions.

The document also provides for sanctions against Russian officials, banks, and the shadow fleet and extends sanctions against Iran.
