On the night of September 17, Kyiv time, the US House of Representatives passed a bill imposing “hellish” sanctions on Russia. It now awaits signature by US President Donald Trump.

This was reported by Suspilne. The vote breakdown was 262 for and 159 against.

The bill was drafted by Republican Lindsey Graham, who has sadly since passed away, and Democrat Richard Blumenthal. This document is known as the “Lindsey Graham bill.” In its final version, it allows Donald Trump to impose 100% tariffs on countries that purchase Russian energy or help Russia evade sanctions.

The document also provides for sanctions against Russian officials, banks, and the shadow fleet, and extends sanctions against Iran.

As Pryamyi previously reported, this bill passed all necessary review stages almost without problems before the final vote.
