The US has banned visas for Russians

The United States Department of State has suspended the visa processing process for citizens of 75 countries.

This was reported by Fox News.

Among the countries whose citizens have been banned from entering the United States are Russia, Somalia, Iran, Afghanistan, Brazil, Nigeria, Thailand, and a number of others.

The relevant measures will take effect from January 21 and will last indefinitely.

The State Department memo states that, in accordance with the law, consular officers must deny visas to representatives of the listed countries until screening and verification procedures are reevaluated.

As noted, immigration will be halted to prevent the entry of foreign citizens who receive social assistance and government benefits.

The United States has previously suspended all asylum and visa applications from Afghan citizens . The decision was made in the wake of the shooting incident near the White House and President Donald Trump’s statements about tightening immigration policies.
