The US has proposed three steps for de-escalation between Ukraine and Russia. These include stopping attacks on energy, restoring the grain corridor in the Black Sea, and a trilateral meeting between representatives of Ukraine, the US, and Russia.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this in an interview with Axios.

According to him, the proposal to stop attacks on energy infrastructure came from the United States. Ukraine is ready to agree to this.

“There is a proposal on the table now: a ceasefire on energy. We are ready,” Zelensky said.

The president also said that during a conversation with Donald Trump, he advocated a trilateral meeting between Ukraine, the United States, and Russia. One of the first results of such talks could be an end to attacks on the energy sector.

At the same time, the US is proposing to start not with a meeting of leaders, but with negotiations between technical teams from the three countries. Abu Dhabi has been mentioned as one of the possible locations.

Zelensky stressed that Ukraine is ready for various options for holding such negotiations.

“We are open – any country, any format,” the president said.

According to him, the very meeting of representatives of Ukraine, the US, and Russia at one table could be a step towards de-escalation.

Recall that earlier Donald Trump had already called on Ukraine to stop attacks on Russian refineries , linking them to problems in the global diesel fuel market.

Before that, Zelensky spoke about the expected meeting with Trump on September 20th and stated that he planned to raise the issue of countering the Russian ballistic threat.

In addition, Trump recently signed a law on sanctions against Russia and Iran , which, in particular, allows for the imposition of tariffs on countries that purchase Russian oil and gas.
