Republicans in the US House of Representatives plan to vote next week on a bill to tighten sanctions on Russia and Iran, a document by Senator Lindsey Graham that has already been passed by the US Senate.

According to sources, the bill is planned to be put to a vote in the House of Representatives next week.
The document provides for strengthening sanctions against Russia and Iran.
It is worth adding that the US Senate approved the bill on August 7, 2026, by 86 votes . The document must now be considered by the House of Representatives, where it could be put to a vote next week.
If the House of Representatives approves the bill as is, it will be sent to the President of the United States. The document will enter into force as law after being signed by the President or, under certain conditions, automatically after 10 days without his signature.
Thus, the upcoming vote of the House of Representatives is a key stage in the passage of the bill, but it will not in itself mean the automatic introduction of the sanctions it provides.
The day before, it became known that the US Senate has begun debates on a bill on a new package of sanctions against Russia and Iran. The document provides, in particular, for a 500% duty on imports of Russian energy resources and coal into the US.
Recall that Democratic US Congressmen Don Baier and Brad Schneider opposed the bill on the so-called “hell” sanctions against Russia . At the same time, they stated that they continue to support sanctions pressure on Russia and aid to Ukraine.
It was previously reported that a bipartisan bill to strengthen sanctions against Russia, developed by Senator Lindsey Graham, has already received the support of 61 US senators.
