The US is considering the option of conducting ground operations in Venezuela: the Pentagon has provided plans for military action

Senior American officials have presented US President Donald Trump with options for military operations in Venezuela aimed at the country’s leader, Nicolas Maduro.

This was reported by CBS News, citing sources familiar with the meetings at the White House.

The day before, on Wednesday, US Military Service officials presented updated versions of possible operations, which include not only air actions, but also ground ones.

According to sources, Trump was briefed on developments in the coming days by Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Kaine, and other senior officials.

However, a final decision has not yet been made.

Earlier this week, the USS Gerald Ford aircraft carrier group entered the airspace of the US Southern Command area of responsibility and joined a flotilla of destroyers, military aircraft, and special forces.

Meanwhile, over the course of two months, the United States military attacked 21 ships allegedly carrying drugs, killing at least 80 people.

“My advice to foreign terrorist organizations is don’t get on the boat. If you are involved in drug trafficking to poison the American people, and we know that you are from a designated terrorist organization, you are a foreign terrorist or a human trafficker, we will find you and kill you,” Hegset stressed.

Recall that the administration of US President Donald Trump has identified military facilities in Venezuela that, according to it, are used for drug smuggling, and is considering options for air strikes on them .

Earlier, United States President Donald Trump announced his intention to launch a ground operation by the American military in Venezuela . The main goal is to combat drug trafficking.

As is known, the United States has significantly increased its naval presence in the Caribbean , deploying the USS Iwo Jima and USS Gravely in close proximity to the coast of Venezuela.

By the way, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro is considering resigning in exchange for personal safety and guarantees of immunity from the United States.
