The US is helping Cubans and “liberating” Cuba – Trump

US President Donald Trump said that Washington supports the Cuban people and is participating in the “liberation” of Cuba.
Trump noted that the United States has a significant presence in Cuba, including through the CIA.
“We have a lot of people in Cuba. We have the CIA there. Marco Rubio’s parents are from there. We will help the Cuban people. We are liberating Cuba,” the US president said.
Trump also commented on the possibility of escalation between Washington and Havana.
According to him, the White House does not see the need to escalate the situation.
“There will be no escalation. I don’t think it’s needed. Everything is falling apart there. It’s a mess, and they seem to have lost control,” he said.
Despite these statements, tensions remain between the United States and Cuba.
Earlier, American media reported that the US Department of Justice was preparing charges against former Cuban leader Raul Castro over the 1996 incident with the downed civilian planes.
