The US plans to increase missile production due to a possible war with China.

The US Department of Defense is preparing to significantly increase production of missiles and ammunition to prepare for a possible armed conflict with China.

The Wall Street Journal reports this.

Doubling production is part of Washington’s strategy to strengthen defense capabilities in the Asia-Pacific region. This includes a large-scale expansion of production capacity, modernization of defense enterprises, and strengthening of supply chains.

According to the publication, the main challenge remains the gap between the current capabilities of the American defense industry and the volumes that could be needed in the event of a large-scale conflict.

The Pentagon is considering engaging the private sector, expediting licensing procedures, and reducing bureaucratic barriers. At the same time, the agency acknowledges the risks associated with logistics, supply security, and the need for balanced investments.

As a reminder, at the beginning of the year , China began construction of at least five new barges specifically designed for amphibious landings . This could become an integral part of Beijing’s military strategy in the event of an attempted landing on Taiwan.

China is reportedly strengthening its military presence around Taiwan and increasing its readiness for a surprise attack on the island.
