US President Donald Trump is considering creating a free trade zone with Ukraine.
This was stated by US special envoy Steve Witkoff.
Yes, Trump is proposing a duty-free zone for Ukraine. According to Witkoff, this would be a “game changer.”
“You will see industry enter this region on a huge scale. Just imagine: you get the opportunity to get ahead of your competitors because you don’t pay duties when you send goods to the United States,” he stressed.
It is worth noting that, according to the State Statistics Service , in January-August 2025, Ukraine exported goods to the United States worth over $757 million. As Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko previously noted , a significant share of exports is accounted for by cast iron and pipes.
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine is discussing a possible free trade agreement with the United States .
