The US will significantly increase the production of Patriot and THAAD missiles: the Pentagon has signed seven-year agreements

This is stated in a Pentagon statement.

The agreements provide for multi-year cooperation to expand production capacity and accelerate the supply of components for THAAD and PAC-3 MSE interceptor missiles.

In particular, production capacity for PAC-3 MSE interceptors is planned to be tripled, and for THAAD, it is planned to be quadrupled.

The agreements will also increase the production of individual missile components, including engine cases, homing heads, middle sections, and fairing deployment systems.

The Pentagon said the new agreements should reduce bureaucratic procedures and accelerate the expansion of American production capabilities in the field of air and missile defense.

At the same time, financing of the agreements will depend on annual budget allocations. Guaranteed minimum purchase volumes should ensure stable demand for producers in the long term.

It was previously reported that after a five-month war with Iran, the US faced a significant depletion of its stockpiles of high-tech munitions. The US military is estimated to have used up nearly 80% of its THAAD interceptor missiles, as well as about half of its stockpiles of Patriot and Tomahawk missiles.
