Pope Leo XIV to Embark on First Foreign Trips Since Election to the Throne of Saint Peter in November–December 2025

This was announced by the press service of the Holy See.

From November 27 to 30, Pope Leo XIV will undertake an Apostolic Journey to Turkey, where he will visit İznik to mark the 1,700th anniversary of the First Council of Nicaea.

“On his first Apostolic Journey, Pope Leo XIV will become the fifth Successor of Saint Peter in our time to visit Turkey,” the Vatican press office noted.

Following his visit to Turkey, the Pope will travel to Lebanon, remaining there until December 2. His itinerary has not yet been released, but the Vatican has promised to provide further details in due course.
As you know, on May 8, white smoke appeared over the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican — a historic signal of the election of a new Pope.

It was later announced that Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost from the United States had been elected as the new Pope. He took the name Leo XIV, becoming the first pontiff in history to be from the United States.

Recall that during Sunday prayer with the faithful, Pope Leo XIV wished Ukraine a speedy, true, and just peace.
