The Verkhovna Rada Committee meeting, where they planned to consider blocking party accounts, was disrupted – by “European Solidarity” deputies

The meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Digital Transformation, where the blocking of party pages of local organizations of the European Solidarity party was discussed, did not take place, since representatives of the mono-majority and the SBU did not come.

This was reported by faction co-chair Irina Gerashchenko and MP Volodymyr Ariev during a briefing . They also noted that the pages were closed due to criticism of the authorities, which was a trial step to test the public reaction.

“European Solidarity” has regional organizations. We are an ideological party that works, that fights today, volunteers. And in the conditions of a complete cleansing of the information field, the absence of our representatives at the telethon, we have our party pages, where primarily regional information is presented about those who serve, about our volunteer projects, about the bills that we defend in parliament, and our position,” Gerashchenko said.

“The SBU blocked several regional party pages of “European Solidarity” with a very strange wording: supposedly, their authors promoted pro-Ukrainian narratives and criticized the leadership of the aggressor country in order to gain the trust of the audience, and then began to criticize the Ukrainian leadership, thereby discrediting it. I’m not joking! This is from the official response,” noted Iryna Gerashchenko.

“I initiated the consideration of this issue in the committee so that the SBU and the Ministry of Digital Transformation, which was the executor of the blocking, would provide explanations. Look, no one is here, but we received letters. Here is a letter from the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, signed by Deputy Minister Oleksandr Bornyakov. They write everything off to the Security Service of Ukraine. I quote: “The Ministry of Digital Transformation received a letter from the Security Service of Ukraine dated 30.01.2025 No. 30/31059 on preventing the dissemination of destructive content that may damage the information security of Ukraine. In connection with the information provided in this letter, the Ministry of Digital Transformation contacted representatives of the social network Instagram with a request to take measures on the relevant accounts,” said Volodymyr Ariev.

“We are reading this letter from the Security Service of Ukraine, which was sent to the Ministry of Digital Transformation by the Department for Counterintelligence Protection of State Interests in the Sphere of Information Security, signed by Deputy Head of the Department Oleksandr Shevchuk. “For some time, the bots of this system supported Ukrainian narratives and discredited the military-political leadership of the aggressor country. But, having gained popularity and formed a live organic audience among active citizens of Ukraine, this network gradually, in a coordinated manner, began to add anti-Ukrainian rhetoric to the general content, in particular, with the goal of discrediting government bodies in general and the President of Ukraine in particular.” In fact, this is an admission that the President of Ukraine cannot be criticized,” the people’s deputy notes.

“They found 185 accounts on Instagram and 227 accounts on TokTok. And they included two Instagram accounts of European Solidarity. I think that this was a trial step to see if it is possible to implement political censorship against a party,” the MP says.

“I have great respect for the combat officers of the Service and their work to protect Ukraine, unique operations against the enemy. But I call on the Service not to let itself be drawn into politics, not to politicize its work and to stop pressuring the opposition,” notes Irina Gerashchenko.

“Most of all, the Ukrainian authorities discredit the Ukrainian authorities themselves, including with such orders to the service,” the deputy sums up.
